Metros Dump Dallas; Idiots Hire Bartender!
By Brian
Yee Hah! The good ole cowboys from FC Dallas rode eastward Wednesday night and got whooped by those striped city slickers, more commonly known as the MetrosStars 3-2.
In a game that had terrific pace and displayed the some of best football action the MLS has to offer, our Metros showed a lot of character and resolve in mounting a 2nd half come back from a 2-1 deficit to overtake the Western Conference leaders.

French international cowpoke Youri Djourkaeff, despite a nagging hamstring, led our red and black posse by setting up Ante Razov's early 1st half ice breaker and capped off that assist by playing a solid game for 90 minutes+ there after.
Those little doggies from Dallas scored the next 2 goals via Clarence Goodson - one before and after the break. But like US Calvary coming to the rescue, our Metros responded by creating offensive opportunities and making timely defensive plays.
Following a near goal strike by Djourkaeff that hit the crossbar, the Metros continued to attack and were soon awarded a corner kick for their efforts. FC Dallas onion bag monitor Scott Garlick mishandled the ensuing kick and Stinky Sullivan's Striker of the Year 2004, Mike Magee left footed home the offering to level it at 2.
Then in the 74th minute, the Metros lassoed the lead when our Argentine Royale, Sergio Galvan Rey gathered a smartly delivered Razov pass and poked it home for a 3-2 tally. M-Troop held on for the next quarter hour+ and we enjoyed our 4th home victory of the season!
Bar anyone? It's no secret that the First Row Idiots (FRI) want to get into the bar business, preferably in Harrison, NJ near the new home of the Metros (gulp, I hope we get it). The good news is that should the Metros get a stadium and we get our bar, we'll already have our first employee! Who would work for us you may ask yourself? Well it's Debbie of Hasbrouck Heights, that's who. Since we had a career low FRI turn out (only Keith and myself; along with my Hoboken and hoops friend Doug), our FRI tailgate was held at the Marina Bar near Giants Stadium and Debbie was our bartender. Not only was she terrific fun to talk to, and scared of clown horns, she says she would actually work for us one day! Imagine that. You gotta love that dedication - baby you can drive my car, yes I'm gonna be a star...
