so its Red Bull New York i guess is the club name....while the team is the New York Red Bulls....
couple of points.
team is going to play in NJ...always...some have a problem with that, but i don't. especially since i moved to NY from NJ. :)
for marketing purposes, totally understandable.
another point is what the hell do say when we're in the stands. do we cheer for New York...like they do in europe (chelsea, arsenal, barcelona, etc) or do we break into spontaneous chants of the energy drink...which seems a little to you know what.... how do you have a conversation about the team in a bar when you're in close proximity to a bartender?
so some over on the boards have suggested metro reds. only problem is there will be nothing metro about the team...so reds seem like a good compromise and keith has already seemed to take to it. brian certainly will as its shared by his hometown team where his family roots are deeply set in liverpool. maybe we'll just wait and see.
for now..bulls, reds...will all settle in and work i imagine....
