The front page of
newyorkredbulls.com is reporting 600 people have registered to take advantage of the team's promotional offer of a free trip to D.C. to see the Red Bull's season opener versus D.C. United on April 2nd.
Big Apple Soccer reported that within the first two hours, 500 people registered. That's a very amazing and impressive response especially consider it's a long full day trip from 10am to 11pm. Registration required a $25 deposit which you get back when you take the trip to ensure people who signed up were serious about going.
The team closed down registration, but just decided to add three more additional buses so spots are still open. Idiot John and I will be representing the First Row Idiots on the trip. We'll be sure to take a bunch of pictures and provide a recap of the event.
In other news, the team will announce shortly that any child under 14 can get into the New York Red Bull home opener on 4/8 for free if they wear a soccer jersey and are accompanied by an [paying] adult. (Essentially a buy one adult ticket, get a kid ticket free promo). If the rumor mill is anything to be believed, this is just the start of what will be a memorable opening of the season.
