Today's New Jersey Star-Ledger has an interview with Alexi Lalas where he denies the rumors that he's leaving:
"We were told they (Red Bull officials) were not going to make any changes," Lalas said. "I've been so focused on Opening Day, any kind of long-range plan or direction has yet to be discussed. I owe a tremendous amount to AEG ... and I would have no problem working for them again, but I have no intention of leaving."
Lalas, who was a nomad as a player, now has roots. He recently became a father and he has immediate family on the East Coast. Still, he understands the business.
"Red Bull has incredible plans on and off the field for this organization," [Lalas] said. "If I'm a part of that, great, but if not, I can take my guitar and go down to the Port Authority and bust for a few dollars."
Let's hope Red Bull keeps him around and he continues to want to stick around.
